Surfing Possibility: The Surfer Girls of India from Brown Girl Surf on Vimeo.

'Brown Girl Surf' is an amazing organization that has for purpose to ' elevate the historical significance of trailblazing female surfers, and to connect them with resources and support (and each other!) so they can continue making waves of change in their communities now and for generations to come'.

They made this awesome short film with the help of 'Storytellers for Good' a rad team of film-makers that aim to create and document inspiring stories all over the world. They 'help good people and organizations produce compelling videos to promote their work. Recognizing that a culture can be defined by the types of stories it chooses to tell, we ultimately hope to help create a shift away from the fear and tragedy focused news that has so influenced our world. Whenever possible, we seek to give voice to positivity over pessimism. We aim to promote goodness and, in doing so, inspire greatness.'

Promoting goodness only encourages goodness.

It is mind blowing to see such dedication and love, throughout the ocean & surf community. Moreover, the empowerment of women all over the world, through the ocean, is a cause very close to my heart.

Ishita is the first female surfer in India, a country of 1.2 billion people. Thanks to her love of surfing she is defying the norm and making a stand for herself and her beliefs, affecting all people around her. It is mind blowing to see such dedication and love, throughout the ocean & surf community. Moreover, the empowerment of women all over the world, through the ocean, is a cause very close to my heart.

The lightness of the video, and the happiness I can see in Ishita's eyes, and her pride to help other teenage girls has really made my day.

The Power of the Ocean is undeniable, neither the ones of women standing together for a better future.

You can see other videos on Brown Girl Surf of girls all over the world surfing together.
